What is a biopsy? Why are biopsies important? What changes do pathologists look for in a specimen before they assign a cancer diagnosis?
During this lab, students will be able to:
1. Identify the morphological changes that occur within our cells when cancer is present.
2. Use a compound microscope to diagnose human tissue as either healthy or cancerous
3. Review the location and processes of DNA replication, transcription, and translation
Recommended for high school students, either independently or as a supplement to their Biology units on cell cycle cancer.
