Did you know that features on the skull can identify gender and geographical origin of an individual? Did you know that the nasal bone and opening do more that provide us with the means to smell?
During the lab, students will be able to:
1. Identify specific skull features (Zygomatic bone, Maxilla, Temporal Lines, Mastoid Process, Supra-orbital Ridges, Mandible)
2. Analyze the nasal bone and opening to assess the specimen’s origin.
3. Collect evidence to assign gender and geographical origin to all specimens.
This investigation is perfect for high school students who are taking and/or are interested in Anatomy, Physiology, or General Biology.
