In this course students will be taught the fundamentals of using computer software to develop videos and motion graphic elements for use in videos. The course will begin with an introduction to using the softwares Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects, industry standard tools for developing animations, motion graphics, videos, and videos with special effects. As the course progresses, fundamental tools for video editing and generating motion graphics will be introduced with increasing complexity.

Each lesson will introduce a guided tutorial on using the software. Following each key segment of the lecture the class will be asked to follow a short exercise independently to further explore the content of the lesson. The exercise will be guided with one on one instruction highlighting what each student is doing well and which areas could use improvement. Questions will be encouraged throughout the duration of each lesson.

• Access to Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere (at least CS5 [Creative Suite 5] and up; CC [Creative Cloud] preferred and taught)
